About the artist

Ursone delineates intimate details of the world around us, often cropping her composition to produce focused views of stark quietude–illustrating the subtle power of nature to transport us.”

—J. Kuhn , Director of Arts & Antiquities, City of New York

My work has always been a reflection on nature. Living in New York City for so many years I became fascinated by how nature intrudes itself in even the most gritty, industrial landscapes. And now living half the year on the coast of Maine the natural beauty is so evident, the challenge is to find a very personal way to record it. I love treading that fragile edge between description and invention.

Adele Ursone has a B.F.A. In Painting from Pratt Institute, New York. She has had solo exhibitions at the Turtle Gallery in Deer Isle, Maine, at the Grace Institute and the Mary Delahoyd Gallery in New York City as well as being featured in many group exhibitions.
