About the artist
Nature voices itself in multitudes, and I paint as an act of translation. Gardens, coastlines, rocks, even a simple birch branch against the sky all hold limitless beauty and call to be seen for their unique moment in existence. Interpreting the song of the islands is an act of honoring the gifts around and within me.

I received a BFA in Ceramics from Maine College of Art and set up a pottery studio on Little Cranberry Island, ME where I lived year round and was a studio potter for 15 years. From a very early age, I have been fascinated with the way color brings joy. I would sit at the art able for hours at a time; happy and content. The pottery I make has been colorful and functional, bringing joy into daily acts of living. In recent years, the language of color has pulled me to exploring the more immediate and expressive form of painting. I have found peace and purpose in watching light fall on leaves, trees silhouetted against the sky and rocks worn by relentless tides. The outdoors is now my studio, where joy and nature abound and vast horizons await.
