About the artist
Stefan Elliott’s first memory of embodying as an artists was at age five, when his father taught him how to draw free-hand circles. As a teenager in Southern California, he worked at the library. This not only gave him easy access to a wide variety of art books, but his talents were quickly recognized, and he was asked to do murals for the children’s reading program. This lead to professional and permanent murals at the library and beyond. In his mid twenties he moved to Costa Rica to surf, where he became successful selling his paintings in the ex-pat scene. It was one of these friends that invited him to Mt. Desert Island, where he fell in love with painting the landscape and where he met his wife. He now splits his time painting between Taos, New Mexico and Mt. Desert Island, Maine with his family.
